Has anyone ever had a payment on square not show up in the balance?

I took a payment for a job and it never showed up in the balance it’s never happened before. Has anyone who can tell me what to do ever had this experience before?

Before getting worked up make sure it showed up in your Transactions.  If it never shows in transactions it will not show in the Balance.  If it is not in the transactions, then either you did not process it correctly at the time or were offline, 

2nd It is a Weekend, Square may have transferred it to your Bank, but it is pending deposit at the the bank and may not show till Monday. On Saturday and Sunday my Balance goes to $0.00 and my bank shows Pending Deposits of what my Balance was for each of those days as 2 Pending Deposits Sunday evening.

Go to your Transactions on a computer:

https://squareup.com/dashboard/sales/transactions 

 

Top Left select the date area and a Calendar will popup, select the date of the Transaction.

Find the Transaction...... 

  1. If you can not locate it then you have an issue and need to call Square Support.
  2. If it is there :
  3. Look to the left should be MC, Visa, Discover, AMEX etc if it shows 4 dots 1 in each corner and a circle in the center its cash and will not show up in a balance.  Make sure it is a CC type transaction.  
  4. Double Click the Transaction and a Pop Up will appear on the Right.
  5. You can 1 Print a New Receipt for your records, and 2 Scroll to the bottom where it says Transferred and single click it.
  6. A new Pop up will appear stating where the deposit went. Last 4 or so of a bank account and which Bank.
  7. Click View Details below Bank Name 1 time.  Another Popup  🙂
  8. This will show you the Bank Transfer details and information needed to follow the electronic deposit.

Same here I did two transactions over the weekend and shows nothing

What happens when you Tap Transacations in your Square App?   You should see the Transacation there.   Balance I stopped using and now see that it is removed from my app.  When you take payments you need to have your device connected to the internet either by Wifi or a Cellular signal.  If your app does not have a signal you take payments in offline mode if your account is allowing Offline mode.  If this happens your Square App must connect to the Square servers within 24 hrs to process and record the transactions that were taken in offline mode.

The other thing is which Balance are you stating that shows nothing?  I use a Bank account outside of Square.  So Square has a Balance for what Square is holding to transfer to me, A Balance if you have a Square Checking Account.  Since my account is outside of Square my Balance resets to $0.00 at some point in the evening.  This is because Square says the Balance is going from $XXX.xx to $0.00 because $XXX.xx is being transferred from Square to my bank account.   I am not sure how it works if your Bank is through Square.

Yes I have had numerous days where transactions are missing randomly or for a whole hour! There is no way to prove it to customer service because we do not have manual records. This is very frustrating and I am ready to find another POS System! On September 14th between 10:02 and 11:33 I have no trasactions showing in coffee shop and we know for a fact that 5 drinks were made and they do not show up.
