Gîte or Bed & Breakfast and Square as payment method

Hello, I'd like to use square as a way for customers to pay their stay at my Gite / Bed & Breakfast located in Quebec, but it seems like while registering my business it just got refused.

 

What are the exact parameters I need to fill in as a business? as I don't find any suitable for mine.

Nothing you mentioned in your post rang any bells as to why you aren't able to sign up.

 

I have a few questions to get started looking into this:

  • What message are you receiving when trying to sign up?
  • What is your business type you are signing up as?
  • Is there anything specifically notating you need to make corrections? Or is it just saying you are not eligible to sign up?
  • Please feel free to send over any screenshots of what you are seeing on your side. (You can send them over a direct message if there is any private information listed.)

Please let me know and I can take another look.

Hi Sammie,

 

I initially signed up and I believe I may have make a mistake when filling in the form in regards of the Industry I was applying for. I selected as "other".

My account was under review and I got an email stating that it was declined due to this reason:

"Thank you for attempting to sign up with Square. Unfortunately, because your business is an individual/sole trader, we can’t approve you to take payments with Square. You are welcome to open an account as an individual/sole trader instead. If you have any questions, please visit this ...

Though you cannot process card payments at this time, you can still download the Square Point of Sale to help you run your business.

And this is what I got now after that review (on the homepage) and after clicking again on the button "Start"

Have you tried to sign up for another account using the individual/sold trader selection instead? If so, did it allow you to proceed with sign up?

nope I didn't... but I still want to use the same email and all that... does it mean I should have another email account and sign up from scratch?
