I have a Dymo Labelwriter 450 Duo Turbo.
We have hundreds of different candle shapes. We are hoping to start adding the SKU, item name, and item price to price labels on each candle.
I have printed from the Dymo software, and can print just fine. I have a new install, the drivers are up to date.
When I try to print from Square, there are a few issues.
1. I can select Dymo 30332 1"x1" labels on the Print Labels screen. However, when I go to the print screen, the label size is not found.
2. I can print if I use a size that is similar. However, the font on the barcode is so tiny it is unreadable.
3. If I try printing just the SKU (no barcode), it takes up only half the width of the label (if that), and the print is unreadable due to size.
Is there a solution such that I can print the SKU number/letter combination in a readable font?
I COULD import the candles into the DYMO program, but am trying to save myself some work.
Square does not have support for 1X1 labels.
If you go to print labels, they have both Dymo and Zebra 1x1 labels listed. Presumably, they offer support for this label size.
You are confusing what the printer driver supports vs what Square natively supports. On Dymo square does not support 1X1 labels.

LabelWriter 550 and LabelWriter 450 are compatible with the following:
DYMO Label 1738595: ¾” x 2 ½”
DYMO Label 30336: 2 ⅛” x 1”
DYMO Label 30330: ¾” x 2”
DYMO Label 30334: 2 ¼” x 1 ¼”
First - the link you provide does not state that they provide support for ONLY those specific label sizes.
Second - The 'Create Labels' dialog and the printer dialog are two separate screens. If you go to the 'create labels' page, Square lists all the label sizes listed in the link you provide. IN ADDITION, they list the Dymo 1x1 label. From all appearances, Square provides support for the Dymo 1x1 label.
Third - if you go to the printer dialog page (create labels>print labels now), the printer dialogue page lists all sorts of label sizes that are not listed on the 'create labels' page. Which might indicate that Dymo doesn't support the 1x1 label, except that not only do they sell it, but the Dymo label creation program is able to print on the 1x1 label.
Fourth - other users are reporting an inability to change the font size of the SKU. This problem is not limited to me and my specific label set.
I'm just trying to save you all the frustration I went through with the same exact issue years ago. If you want to print 1X1 labels you must get the Zebra 410 printer, the Dymo is not supported by square to do 1X1. If you figure it out, I'd love to know how you did it. Call tech support and they will confirm everything I have told you.
To be clear - I can print the 1x1 labels. The issue is the size of the font on the SKU. At the moment, it is set to remain at one size only, regardless of whether it is the only item printed or if it is embedded in the barcode. I am looking for the SKU font to be a larger size. The font for the name of the item, the font for the price, etc, is just fine.
As far as changing fonts etc for what Square prints is not an ability Square offers. This is just another reason why I use the Zebra printing software to print my labels. I print 5 different size labels and some are pre-printed with an area to print the Scent of my candle. The other option is I can move the SKU text to where I want and what Size or font I want. Save the Label then print it with out clicking here there and searching in Square. I use Butterfly (Barbell) labels, 1x1.5, 1.5x2 and 2 custom labels with my company infor on them with a Knockout for Thermal Transfer labels. The other thing I do is use 2D barcodes so my barcodes are roughly the same size Square and can be anywhere from 5 to 30 characters in length. The 30 length is because of QuickBooks SKU limit. I went to print labels with Square and can not figure out how to print other fonts for text or anything else.... it is what Square says it is. This is limited by Square and not if you have a Zebra or Dymo printer.
You can "print" any size label you wish. However in any POS system the data is specifically formatted to fit the label not just by the printer driver, but by the configuration file of the POS software. Many years ago more primitive POS systems would actually allow you access to the printer configuration files and they could easily be edited with any text viewing app. Not the case anymore. Whatever POS you use, the POS printing configuration itself MUST be formatted to match the labels you are printing to. Square explicitly details what it supports in the link that I sent you. These are the ONLY sizes Square natively supports. 1X1 labels will require a Zebra 410 printer.
