Feature Request - Increase the PIN entry keypad size

You know the Square keypad (on an ipad screen) clients use to type in their PIN number once they tap the card to make a payment ?

Can we make it bigger please? Most of my clients are old so they have difficulty in seeing the numbers, they shake a lot so they miss the number they want and some have 'fat finger syndrome' where they hit more than 1 number.

I have asked for this many times over the last year but my requests go unanswered. This is a 5 minute fix for the I.T guys. Surely I'm not the only one that sees a benefit by increasing the pad size by say 50%.

Is this the place to get squares attention?

Hey @MACDROID,

Thanks for getting in touch and providing this feedback!

I can see how it would get annoying with customers constantly messing up their PINs and entering the wrong numbers!

Unfortunately making changes to our app is very rarely a simple 5 minute fix - I'm happy to pass your feedback on to our product development team, but we can't make any guarantees on if an when feature requests are confirmed for production and release. You can read a little more on feature requests here. I will used this thread to track this feature request moving forward, so we can have all feedback in the one place as we track demand for the feature.

In the meantime, I can suggest:

- Take a look at accessibility options on your mobile device. both iOS and Android have features that will zoom in the screen upon touch prompts.

- If you're currently using Square on a phone, you might want to consider upgrading to a tablet, that will have more screen space to display a larger PIN screen.

Thanks again for the feedback and all the best!

Thanks for the reply. I did point out that its on an ipad. So Seamus you're the community manager and not someone that actually makes a decision about these things.

Thanks for your empathy but unless Square is prepared to make small changes like this, my clients will continue to be aggravated by Square.

If it becomes increasingly annoying to me, then I'll just take my $1m + sales and the $20k in fees I pay to another provider that is less aggravating.

I am a Software developer, I can assure you that this small change is just that. If your programmers cant do it, maybe time for people more responsive to your clients needs.

Have a great day

Frank

Hey @MACDROIDS,

I get your frustration here, though I'm not able to ask a developer to make this change for you. Feature requests flow through product teams, and while we're able to pass on feedback and advocate for your needs and requests based on community feedback, we don't have the ability to make or guarantee changes or the implementation of specific requests.

I do understand that you've ultimately got to make the call about what apps and tools are going to be best suited to help run your business. Hopefully Square's payment system and POS products have provided value to your business to date, but we understand that there's a range of different products out there that are going to suit some businesses better than others.

Cheers!
