Experiences with Xnxubd VPN + Square POS/Dashboard?

Hello Square Community! 👋

I’ve recently come across Xnxubd VPN  and I’m thinking about using it alongside my Square setup—for both the POS system and Dashboard. Before diving in, I wanted to hear from anyone with real experience using Xnxubd VPN in a Square environment.

Here are a few things I’d love insight on:

  1. Performance & Stability

    • Does Xnxubd VPN introduce lag or slow down the POS devices when processing transactions?

    • Any issues with connectivity or dropped connections during busy hours?

  2. Authentication & Access

    • Does Square ever flag connections from Xnxubd as unusual or block them?

    • Any hiccups logging in to the Dashboard or linking accounts when the VPN is active?

  3. Security & Best Practices

    • Have you noticed improvements in data protection (particularly on public Wi‑Fi) when using Xnxubd?

    • Any specific VPN configurations or server locations that work best with Square?

  4. Comparison & Alternatives

    • If you’ve used both Xnxubd and other VPNs (like NordVPN, ExpressVPN, etc.), how do they compare in this context?

    • Any recommendations for VPNs that are particularly reliable with Square?

Would love to hear anecdotes, tips, or suggestions—especially if you've successfully integrated Xnxubd (or any VPN) with Square tools. Thanks in advance for sharing your experiences!

Hello @Meichen6784 !

I haven't used Xnxubd or any VPN service for my setup, so I can't offer real world experience with it.

However, I do know that Square relies on your device location for processing. If the VPN shows your location other than where you're at while processing, your account may get flagged for review. And if the VPN sets your location outside the US, it may prevent you from processing payments at all.

I fully agree on the need for security when processing. and for my devices in my shop they link to a dedicated hidden wireless network for that additional layer. I'd be careful with VPN services because I think there would be more hassles than what's seen on the surface.

@Meichen6784 ;

I use a VPN at home and on my connections at the store.  I have been using NordVPN and I like it as a VPN.  Now when using it with Square I have issues as I believe square needs Location and also needs to know your not using a VPN or Proxy to access Square.  When I have the VPN on and try to access Square on a Computer I get weird results and sometimes show in a different country and am unable to access Square Forum or Dashboard.  When I toggle the VPN off I have no issues.  I also find out that different sites are now testing to see if a VPN or Proxy is being used and refuse a connection.  Square, Governtment sites, Banks, etc.

I tried the VPN on a router and was having issues.  I setup the router to bypass the vpn for both transactions and websites and then no more issues.  So Square must be checking for people using a VPN to keep people from hiding where they actually are and try to keep the bad actors from Hacking Square.  I do agree with @ryanwanner to not broadcast your WiFi network to add a layer at your location.
