I run a small business (5 employees and myself). I've recently set up Square payroll, and have been imputing my employees information under "Team Management". I have been able to input passcodes chosen by each individual employee successfully with 3 of my employees. Two however, when I try to assign their chosen passcode, I receive the error: That passcode is already taken. Which is odd, because it is nothing like any of the previous 3 passcodes that I have entered. For example:
Employee 1: 0801
Employee 2: 0405
Employee 3: 1024
Employee 4: 1124 (That passcode is already taken)
Employee 5: 5917 (That passcode is already taken)
I can also add that MY owner passcode is not any of those numbers, as well as the passcode set up in Team Permissions. WHY would I be getting an error for just 2 of these numbers? Thanks!

Have you checked the passcodes under the Team tab on your Dashboard? You will want to make sure the code is taken with a different employee on that portion.
If this doesn't do the trick - I would recommend reaching out to our Customer Success team directly. Please call our Support Team.

@HomeRun27 Also check if you have any deactivated employees where you may have used that number before.
