Enquiry Regarding Bulk Image Upload via CSV in Square

I hope this message finds you well.

I am currently in the process of bulk uploading products to my Square account using a CSV file. While this method works well for product data, I would like to know if there is an option—either within Square or through an add-on service—to also bulk upload the associated product images at the same time.

My aim is to streamline the process so that product data and images can be uploaded in one step, rather than having to manually attach images afterward. If this feature is available, I would greatly appreciate guidance on how to implement it.

If such functionality is not currently available as standard, I would be interested to know if there are any partner integrations, advanced tools, or even premium/paid features (including a possible monthly fee) that could make this possible.

I have started adding some 1000+ images, but my product numbers will hit 70k.

I need to find a work around!!

Thank you for your time and support, and I look forward to your response.

Kind regards,

Justin

Hi, @Orderfor ! 😄

You can utilize the bulk edit feature to automatically upload and associate images to your items. Images are only associated with an item if it is deemed a high confidence match. If an image is not matched, it did not pass the confidence threshold. Multiple images cannot be associated with a single item or its variations.

  1. Sign in to your Square Dashboard and click Items & services (or Items & menus or Items & inventory) > Items > Item library

  2. Click on the selected items from the list, then click Edit items

  3. Click (•••) > Bulk upload images

  4. Click upload to add an image file from your device or click browse image library to choose previously uploaded images.

  5. Click Next

  6. Review the matched images for accuracy.

    1. If an image is incorrectly matched, you can update it by clicking the image tile > Library > Sort by: Date uploaded. Once all changes have been made, click Upload images

  7. Click Save.

I hope this helps!

Hi, how does this help me with bulk upload images though?

I have a csv file with all the urls and also a folder with all the images.

Each image is named as the sku that is part of the product.

Can I upload all the images via bulk upload images and the square system will add them to where they need to be based on those details?

Or have I missed something??

Surely it would be easier just for square to allow image upload to product when created just like shopify??

Unfortunately, this is the only way to upload multiple images at once. Right now, it is not supported for images to be uploaded within CSV.

Hi Summer, you've given me the instructions for bulk edit, not bulk upload images.

i can drag and drop hundreds of images - which is fine, i know how to do that. its the pairing of the image to the product. Square seriously can't expect users to manually assign images to products if there is hundreds or thousands of them???

My apologies. I should have clarified that bulk upload is not a feature that is available but bulk editing is an option for photos. I know it isn't ideal, but right now it is the only option.
