My chip reader pairs fine, but then updates over and over endlessly.

Is your reader under warranty? If so please contact Square support to see how they may be able to help you! If not, you may still be protected under your country's consumer rights laws. Alternatively someone else in the community may be able to support you here with their personal experiences!
