End of Free sites but no ability to migrate to Square

I have had two free weebly sites for years.  I know, they were free so why complain?

I spent days building my wife's psychotherapy website on Weebly, then we decided that she wanted to take payments online and now we pay Square seperately and have added a Square page link to the Weebly site.  That's livable with.

Now i get an email saying that  we can't use the custom domain after March 14th without paying Weebly.

Gripe #1  We already pay Square for the Professional plan.

Gripe #2 I have to build a whole new website on Square because....

Gripe #3 Even though Square bought Weebly for their site editor I can't migrate or copy and paste it to Square

Gripe #4 It looks like we will now have to pay MORE to have something as simple as having the banner name on the home page bigger that this which is absurd!

I know nothing is free in this world now but why not make it easier?  I am a 58 year old man who is struggling to keep up with this technology and the thought of having to make the whole website again and to end up with a site of lesser quality makes me want to throw my hands up in the air.

Please tell me I have some of this wrong?

Hi there @Jemski, thanks for coming back to the Community with this.

Very sorry for this experience and I apologize for the misunderstanding. This email only applies to users who have a custom domain connected to a site without any hosting plan, your site is on the Professional plan so it does not apply.

I hope this helps!

Hi Breffni

Thank you for your reply.  Indeed that is not made clear in the email.

But I believe that this will only apply to the Caitlin Hope website not the Jemporium site as one only gets one site per plan.  Is that correct?

Is the Weebly web site builder still available?  it is far superior to the Square one (I find being an older man) and I would like to keep using it.

Correct, it would be one paid plan per site @Jemski

And unfortunately not, as part of our merger with Weebly, you'll have access to the Square Online editor, only.

We have some additional info here.

Hi @Jemski, just stepping in for Breffni while she is out of office.

What exactly happens when you try to edit your current website now? Usually, you'd have access to the editor from the dashboard of your account. Can you send over a screenshot of what you are seeing currently? Thanks!

it works if i log into my weebly account which is separate to the Square account.  I am concerned that after the March deadline I won't be able to use the Weebly editor.

Thanks for letting us know @Jemski, it sounds like you have a couple of domains here with both Square and Weebly.

The best thing to do here is to give our support team a call so that they can pull up your history and see where your paid plans are, just to ensure you keep access to all of your domains.

Our team are available on 0800 - 098 8008, 9AM- 5PM, Mon-Fri or you can send us an email here https://squ.re/3k4g2sg
