“Email is already registered to a Square Pay account”

My customer is getting the following error when trying to checkout.

 

How do I fix it?

Hey @signature_home, I'm so sorry that we missed your post! 

 

From the screenshot, it looks like the customer has previously saved their information for Square Pay. When they go to checkout and enter their email address, they should get a pop up to either enter a verification code that was sent to their number to login, or they can continue to Checkout as guest

Once they're logged in, they should not see the error message above. If they prefer to Check out as guest, they'd need to make sure that the option to Save information is toggle to grey and not blue for them, otherwise the error will also come up.

 

If they do not wish to save their information, they can also opt out of Square Pay using this link
