I am looking for a way to email the entire customer EXCEPT a specific group or groups.
For example, right now, I am running a promotion. I want to send out a reminder to my email list that the promotion ends tonight. I do NOT want to send this email to any customer who has purchased from me during the promotion period.
I can create a group of people who have purchased from us in the last X days. But how to exclude this from the new email going out?
@beefolks1 I'm assuming that when you created the smart group you mentioned, you used the filter "in the past x days/weeks/months." Instead of using this, change the filter to "between" and specify a date range ending the day before our promotion started. That will exclude anyone whose last purchase occurred during the promotion period.
@TheRealChipA's approach is the right workaround – AFAIK Square Marketing currently does not support excluding a customer group from a campaign. You have to define who is included instead.
Another option (if date-based filters don’t quite fit) is to create a Smart Group that explicitly includes only customers whose last purchase was before the promotion start date, and send the campaign to that group rather than ‘All customers’.
Hopefully Square adds native group exclusion at some point, as this seems like a common use case for promotions and reminders.
