Donating an e-gift card

I set up my Square website to offer e-gift cards.

Now I want to give an e-gift card as a donation/sponsorship prize for a small business group. What’s the best way to do it?

I created a coupon code, then went online and selected the gift card and entered the coupon code (so that the amount I pay equals zero) but it’s saying the code is invalid.

Is there a better way to donate an e-gift card without it costing me anything?

Thanks for taking the time to write back into the community 👋

Setting up a discount code of 100% to offer your discounts without having to make a payment yourself. It sounds like you might have created a coupon code for Square Online. There's a different part of your dashboard to create eGift Card discounts:

1. Log in to your Square Dashboard and click on the menu in the top left hand corner.

2. Select Gift Cards > eGift cards > Promotions.

3. Click Create Code and set up a discount code.
