Does any hone know why Square Register crashes during the check out process?

Does any hone know why Square Register crashes during the check out process? It happens a lot when we are taking orders, and we are ready to check out, the screen goes black, it seems to be reloading, and when it comes back, the entire order is gone, and we have to re-enter it. This is a big problem when we have a long line of customers during rush hours.

@Kvinod77 we have the same issue.  Did you ever find a solution?  are you running Square for restaurants on the Square register by chance?

Hi @EUPHORIA - thanks for adding your voice to this thread. So sorry to hear about the continued trouble with your Register. Were you able to find success using the troubleshooting steps listed above by Valentina? They have been proven to weed out any software issues that may arise, specifically the factory reset, as well.

If you've tried the available troubleshooting and are still encountering errors, we would recommend reaching out to our Support Team immediately.

Also a quick note, it looks like you chimed in on a couple of our Register threads, so just to be sure you see my response, I am going to also respond via those threads as well. I will keep an eye out for your response!

@Joe yes I have tried all troubleshooting steps to no avail.

 

I reported the issue about 3 weeks ago but was told this is not a priority since not enough sellers are having this issue.

 

 I was trying to see if anyone else was able to resolve the problem on their own.   

 

It does seem strange though that if Square supports Square for restaurants on Square register and we are having the same problem on two registers (we only have two) that Square would not make it more of a priority to fix.

Hi, we haven't found a solutions. I do use Square for Restaurants on the black square POS that has two screens, one for the customer to pay, and our side.

Thanks, @Kvinod77 for your reply.  Have you reported to square by phone? I think the more of us that do will hopefully get them to make this a priority as they basically told me that it is not, because not enough sellers have this issue, but perhaps not enough sellers are reporting (probably because we are all too busy)

Hi! I did, Getting through the phone customer service didn't work so I sent a message through the site but never got a response back. It sucks because the POS is great but the fact that it crashes often, makes things hard during rush hours. I still have the previous whit POS and I use it to take phone orders and as back up on rush hours but I would still prefer to find a permanent solution.

@Kvinod77 I’ve had this issue too with email support requests, and not hearing anything back or getting an email confirmation.  Same goes sometimes with reporting an issue by phone.  I wish Square had a better ticket tracking system.  If you call into support with your customer support code I usually  ask for a call back instead of waiting and always do get a call back. the support has been friendly and knowledgeable. What doesn’t make sense to me is that this issue has not been made a priority and hope more sellers report it.
