I was researching an answer for a gift card question that was posted, and ran across this help document that needs to be changed. See screen shot. You’ll note that it says here there are no activation fees for gift cards, and no other fees that the card processing fee to purchase the gift card. Obviously, that is no longer true.
It is definitely tricky, but I can see that Square could look at it that the first question is simply pertaining to the actual gift cards (and is accurate to the actual buying and use of the card) and the second is correct with the 2.5% load fee (don't get me started 🫣) .
So it may be one of those situations where it is right but also confusing. So I can definitely see how it could be read as contradicting though and making for issues.
