We need the ability to disable or hide the “Custom Amount” button in Square POS at the register level for accurate vendor item sales and reporting. This would help businesses that require strict item-based checkout and eliminate misuse of custom amounts.
Requested options:
• Permission to turn off Custom Amount
• Register-level toggle to disable Custom Amount
• Item-based only checkout mode
This issue causes reporting errors and compliance problems for multi-vendor retail businesses.
Hi there @UnnecessaryExtr.. This exists, but the setting is in Team Permissions. It's under Checkout permissions, "Manualy enter custom amounts." Would that work for you?
Oooh yes, that might work!! Thank you!!! I’ll look into it! One of my employees just uses the custom amount button instead of scanning a vendor’s miscellaneous tag. It screws up our accounting and results in hours of extra work for me. Turning off custom amount will alleviate this problem!!

Hey there @UnnecessaryExtr.. Apologies for the delay responding. It's found on your web dashboard > Staff > Team > Permissions. Edit the permission sets you want to restrict, then go to the Checkout permissions tab. Under Basic Sale Operations, you'll see the checkbox for "Manually enter custom amounts."
