This may be related to the compatibility of your device or the Developer Options being enabled on your phone. 

 

Before you start, make sure that your device is compatible with our Hardware. You can check this on our compatibility page. 

 

If your device is compatible, please make sure the developer options are disabled and restart your device before connecting to Square Reader.

My device worked with the reader the day before. It has been used many times before. This has happened for the second time with the same phone.

Thanks for your reply @Diane19. That definitely doesn't seem right. 

 

Have you had any luck with disabling the developer options on your phone and repairing your device at all? 

 

We also have some troubleshooting steps available at our support center which are known to fix pairing issues with the Square Reader. 

 

Let me know if those steps in that article help at all, I'd be happy to further investigate.
