Custom Item Prep Times by location at the Item Level

Hi

We are local bakery and we have 2 stores. At the moment, we sell cupcakes at our main store that has a kitchen and don't sell them at our second location that doesn't. 

I want to offer cupcakes at the second location with a 1 business day prep time and offer cupcakes at the first location with a 1 hour prep time. 

Currently, the system has 2 options: 

1) Use location default or

2) Custom prep time 

I want to be able to offer a product with a location specific prep time. Is there a way to do that now?

P.S If I change the location default for the second store to 1 business day, that will change the prep time for all products sold at that store to 1 business day and I don't want that.

Thanks for reaching out! You can set the fulfillment settings per location from the Square Online dashboard under Fulfillment > Pickup & Delivery. Each item must be assigned to a location from the Square dashboard (under Items) as well.

I went to the Pickup settings under Fulfillment in Square online. 

The prep time for the location is set to 1 hour. The problem is that I want the prep time for the rest of the items we sell in that location to stay 1 hour. I just want to set the prep time for a specific item in only this particular location to 1 business day.

Currently, the second location is disabled since we can't fulfill orders with a one hour lead time for that location

If you go to the Edit Item page for Cupcake, and scroll down you will see a fulfillment section. This will override the default prep time for that location, meaning only that item will be set to have a 1 day prep time. 

I'm hoping this is what you were looking for, but please let me know if I'm still missing something. 😊

I just realized that what I may be missing is that you sell this item at both locations, but only want to have 1 business day prep at one of them? Based on my screenshot, the custom time will apply to both locations. I believe the only way to work around this would be to create a duplicate item so that you have one assigned to one location, and the other assigned to second location. This way you would be able to control the prep time for both.

I found a workaround for this. 

I had to go through every item sold at the location and change the availability from Location default to 1 hour. Then changed the location default to 1 business day for that location. Finally, set the cupcake item prep time to location default which now is 1hr for our main location and 1 business day for the second location.
