Chip reader not staying connected

I am using multiple Galaxy tab A tablets Bluetooth connected to chip reader. Multiple times per day, the chip reader disconnects itself. It will always reconnect by closing the app and reopening it. Any advice on how to keep the chip reader from disconnecting in the first place?

There's some troubleshooting tips here for your unit disconnecting - it's worth a look.  Also ensure that you don't have other apps open, just the Square app you need.  These things can be a frustrating for sure.
