Changing date on invoices again!!!

Please consider allowing the option to change the date on transactions.  I received a payment after my sale and wanted to credit it to the correct event.  I've read other posts throughout the community related to this.  Is this being considered?

Hey @4elise.  Of course, we fellow sellers can’t tell you if it is being considered, or not.  Also, even if it is being considered, we rarely hear about it until it is coded, tested and implemented — unless there is a beta test first in which case an announcement, of sorts, will be made about the beta test.

 

Having said that, this is a thorny issue with Square.  There have been numerous requests (including some from me) to allow post-payment changes of certain transaction fields.  But, so far, Square has held firm in their policy that they will not allow ANY changes, period.  Payments must be posted on the day they are received.  Otherwise, it would cause our deposits and other date-sensitive functions to be even more wrong — especially reports that detail what transactions are in a deposit.  Imagine, for a moment, the errors that would creep into a report if Square allowed us to add payments to a day months ago after the deposits for that day had already been made.  Chaos.

 

Anyway, for now, if I were a betting man (and on this subject I’d be safe to be one) I’d bet that this is NOT being considered, and that it probably never will be considered.
