Changing 'Deposit' to 'Non-Refundable Retainer'

Hello,

Does anyone know how to change 'Deposit' to 'Non-Refundable Retainer'? I am a wedding DJ and if the event is cancelled the client could challenge the 'Deposit' because by definition it's only holding the date for the event but not payment toward services. We use 'Non-Refundable Retainer' if the event is cancelled we keep the Retainer. Thoughts?

The word 'Deposit' appears when we ask for a partial payment upfront then the rest 15 days prior to event.

Thank You in advance!

@jav I would look at using square contracts and attaching a contract they sign with that language.  Deposits by nature are not always refundable or it wouldn't be a deposit.  Deposits in this situation are consideration for the contract and part of the deal.

You might want to just invoice for the down payment/deposit/retainer  or just call it a booking fee or upfront fees might be a better name.  I don't think you have to use the definition as merely holding the date, because you are giving them exclusive rights to that date so you are surrendering the calendar to them.
