We are in veteran organization that uses the square account for kitchen sales, and we had someone who was on the account I’ll be at the account name was for our organization leave and the other person that set up the account passed away and square is now holding our funds and not allowing us to transfer the information how do we go about fixing this because They’re holding $5000 right now and our bank accounts are gonna get fees if we don’t start paying these bills? Thoughts, suggestions? We call and get results. We’ve emailed we get the results and it’s frustrating because we have a financial officer who is struggling with this and now it’s bleeding over to our day-to-day operations.
No one in this forum would be able to assist you with this as we do not know who's SS or EIN is on the Square account. This information can not be changed for EIN or SS numbers. So if the person Passed away that setup the account and used their SS number this is another issue. The person who setup the account should have used the Veterns associations EIN then you could change Management but not Ownership.
You can transfer business here : https://app.squareup.com/dashboard/business/about-my-business on a computer through Squares Dashboard on a web browser.
The issue is whos EIN or SS number is this under? From the link above Square States :
Transfer business
This transfers the business to a new person within your organization. To process payments, Square needs to verify their identity. Don’t worry, you’ll still be able to process payments during the transfer process.
NOTE: This feature is not supported when selling a business.
Which sounds like this would qualify as long as the EIN for the Veterans Association Stays the same.
This is why you would need to call Square Support which their number is in my signature line below.
