We use the Square Payments API to process credit card transactions. Currently we're able to verify billing zip code through AVS,
but we'd like to also verify that the cardholder's first and last name matches what the issuing bank has on file.
A few questions for the community:
1. Does Square support cardholder name verification as part of the payment or card authorization flow?
2. If so, does the API return a match/no-match result similar to how AVS works for zip codes?
3. If name verification isn't available, is there any additional billing detail verification beyond zip code and CVV that Square
supports?
We're trying to reduce fraud on our platform while also giving legitimate customers clear feedback at checkout if something
doesn't match. Any guidance on what's possible through the API would be appreciated.
