Cannot verify identity for card payments.

I've been struggling with this for weeks, and I've had no luck. I even tried to deactivate my account as a workaround, and I can't do that. Heck, I even tried to verify my identity again through the support team, and even they won't help. What do I do?

Hi @grievedinferno - Welcome to The Seller Community.

 

We understand that this is not an ideal outcome. Identity Verification is an automated process. 

 

Here are the steps for deactivating a Square account:

  1. From your online Square Dashboard, go to Account & Settings.
  2. From the Personal Information tab, select Deactivate Account.
  3. Select your reason for deactivation and click Continue.
  4. Enter the verification code. ...
  5. Confirm deactivation by selecting Deactivate.

Hello.

Like I mentioned in the post, I can't even deactivate my account either. The dialogue box returns with the following:

"Unable to disable your account"

"It looks like your application to accept credit cards was declined. We are unable to complete your deactivation."

Hello @grievedinferno,

 

Stepping in here for @Ria while she is away.


Just to clear things up here, you will not be able to deactivate your account if it was never approved for card processing to begin with.

Accounts that were never approved for card processing are technically not active accounts, therefore you can not deactivate an account that never was active.

 

I hope this provides some clarity.

Okay, is there a way to fully activate it after I was denied? Because another thing I noticed is that even after inputting the correct information and got denied, it still gives me the option to verify. To which it will immediately tell me that I can't verify it.

Once again, I have tried going to that activation site, and it immediately tells me that it's unable to approve my request.
