Can i use any usb cash drawer?

I am trying to find a USB drawer that is a bit cheaper can I use any USB cash drawer or does it have to be one provided by Square.

You can only use a USB cash drawer that is compatible with Square hardware. You can visit this page to view the full list of compatible USB cash drawers.

We'll include a 'Buy' button for any hardware that can be purchased directly through the Square Shop.
