Can I change the account owner name on my Square account?

The title of this thread has been edited by a Square Moderator from the original: Is there a way to change legal name yet due to martiage, divorce etc.

I got married a few years ago and my last name has changed, I know at the time square wasn't able to change it, what would be the best way to change it other than starting a new account? Do I need to transfer account from old last name to new last name?

We aren’t able to edit the legal name you used to activate your Square account. If your past legal name is no longer associated with your identity, we recommend either transferring the ownership of your existing Square account to yourself under your new name, or you can create a new Square account with your new legal name, as you mentioned.
