Can I add a link on my Xero invoices for customers to pay via Square ?

We are new to Square & would like to know if we can add a payment link on our Xero invoices for our customers to pay by card, if they so wish to ?

We have done it with Paypal, but not sure how to do it with Square

Hi @Laserpro, thanks for your post and welcome to the Seller Community. 

 

Yes, Square works with our integration partner Amaka  to offer an integration with Xero

Once you link your two accounts, you will activate the payment service feature and be able to offer an online payment option to your customers. Customers will simply have to click on the Pay Now button and they will be redirected to Square’s payment gateway.

 

Have you already connected your Square and Xero accounts? I'll leave the steps here: 

 

  1. Connect your Xero and Square accounts via our integration partner Amaka.
  2. Click Connect new account and allow permissions.
  3. Allow access for Square Payments to sync organization data and user account information.
  4. Once both accounts are logged in, click Save + Continue.
  5. Follow the prompts to customize the integration to suit your needs until you have finished setup.

Let me know if you then see the option for your Xero clients to pay via Square.

Hi Alegra,

 

Yes, Square & Xero are connected 

The customer then sees these options; (We also use Paypal)

 

Pay Now

Paypal

Credit or Debit Card

 

If they click on Credit or Debit Card, it directs them to Paypal, which seems odd

 

However, if they click on Pay Now, they can get to Square. It would be better if they were directed to Square through the Credit / debit card button

Is this something I have set up incorrectly ?

Thanks for confirming @Laserpro

 

That does sound like your default setting is PayPal, I'm not familiar with Xeros settings but it does sound like this might be related to a setting on that end rather than Squares. 

 

I did have a look through their help centre here but I can't see any way to edit the Debit/Credit card default. 

 

In this case the best option would be to contact their support team, as if you have added the integration on Squares side, all other aspects of the partnership is handled by them.

 

I'll leave their contact info and hopefully they will be able to resolve this quickly.
