Bulk Edit for items won't load

For the last few days I have not been able to get the bulk edit feature to load. I have tried both Firefox and Chrome (Windows 11 desktop computer) and it won't work on either. I select the items and when I hit the "Bulk Edit" button the screen looks like it is trying to load, but then it goes away after a second and I am left on the item screen where I selected the items.

@Sithkazar Thanks for the update! Since it's working on your home computer but not on the store's Windows 7 system, it’s likely an OS-related issue. Windows 7 is no longer supported by many modern web applications, so certain features may not function properly.

Unfortunately none of your suggestions solved the issue. The browsers are up to date. I also tried clearing the cache/cookies and using a private window. Its very strange.

 

I am a terrible liar about my OS. Its Windows 7, not 11. I have 11 on my home computer, but 7 on the one at the store. I'm going to try logging in on dashboard at home and see if I get the same weird glitch.

 

There are no error messages. The web address changes to the bulk edit, but I can't see or interact with it, only the regular page "underneath" it. When I reload nothing changes.

 

Edit: It works on my home computer.

Hi Robin, please flag this as an issue. It keeps happening for us as well. The actions and bulk edit buttons become unclickable, as well as the arrow button to scroll down. It's like the whole bottom right corner of the page stops working as soon as you select the little checkbox beside an item. The buttons are there, visible, but can not be clicked. It is an issue that comes and goes. I have done all steps necessary to fix it if it was a personal browser issue. and I am on Windows 11.

That is a shame. I know it's old, but I don't really need anything fancy for the store so I wasn't planning on upgrading.

 

It worked fine until recently so they must of changed how the bulk edit works in the browser.

If it is not in the budget for a Windows 11 computer, try pricing a Chromebook for your store.  I use 2 different Chromebooks at the store for editing my Square Dashboard.  I also have 2 refurbished HP desktops that run windows 10 Pro.  Just 2 alternatives that might be in the budget for replacing a windows 7 machine.

Bulk edit randomly started working again. I don't know why. I don't believe I did anything.

@Sithkazar ;

When you say your having problems with the Bulk Edit, are you referring to on the Items screen through Squares Website?

If so you could also Export your Catalog as a CSV file or Excel file, then edit the file and then upload it back to your catalog.
