Barcode scanner error

Hi,

 

We are getting an error every single time we change screen on the square register. It keeps coming up with 'barcode scanner disconnected' but it still works. We've already replaced the hub and the problem is still there. 

 

Have tried to contact tech support but had no luck. It's £1000 til and it's not working properly.

 

If anyone can help we'd be very grateful

Hi, MARPLEBOOKSHOP

 

First could you check that your Square Register is currently fully updated.

 

  • To make sure your Square Register has the latest software, tap the down arrow at the top of your Register and:

    1. Select Settings.

    2. Tap Hardware > General > About Register.

    3. Tap Software Update. If there is no update, your software is up to date.

  • Also please make sure your device’s date and time are accurate. If they are incorrect, update them via the Settings > General section.

 

If this does not resolve your issue, could you please attempt these steps for me.

 

  1. Disconnect all USB devices from the USB hub connected to your Square Register

  2. Logout of your account and restart the Square Register keeping all USB devices disconnected.

  3. After rebooting log back in and connect only the scanner to the USB hub.

 

If you have followed these steps and continue to receive issues could you contact support using the instructions below and explain your issue providing the Make and Model of your Scanner.

 

  1. Login to your Square Account

  2. Go to https://squareup.com/help/gb/en

  3. Click Resources in the top right hand corner of the screen

  4. Then select Contact from the dropdown menu
