We're looking to move our sales and web catalog back to Square.. We moved to Woo Commerce in 2019, but have been finding it increasingly more difficult to keep up with the plug-in compatibilities, updates and overall costs.
We are an equipment manufacturer and reseller for industrial equipment. We sell mostly to larger buyer groups under terms(Net 30). 4-6 purchasing offices throughout regional offices with a single corporate accounting office paying the bills for all of them. In the past, this was difficult to accomodate with Square due to the customer templates being more consumer oriented. Has this expanded to cover B2B buyers as I've touched on above?
An additional limitation we experienced several years ago was lack of sales tax options for specialized industries such as mining where they are given reduced sales tax rates. 10% is the average consumer rate for our combined State/County/City, while mining related industries are closer to 4% to 5% combined.
Hi @McNair 👋 Welcome back to the Square Community! Thank you for your post.
For your tax setup, you may be able to take advantage of the tax registrations feature. The automatic U.S. tax calculator charges U.S. sales tax based on all tax registrations you added to your Square account and where you fulfill an order. Square sets your tax registrations based on your Square locations, but you can always add more if you plan to ship orders to another state.
Since you already have a Square account, I recommend creating a few test Invoices so you can take a look at what's changed with since you last used them with Square to ensure they'll fit your business needs. Our house accounts feature may also be useful to you when making sales to larger clients who purchase often.
I hope this information is helpful but please do let me know if you have any additional questions 🙂
