we use open tickets with square POS. We would like the ability to automatically close tickets at the close of business (all customers have a payment method stored in the customer list) rather than manually close them one by one. We would also like to be able to merge tickets for the same customer automatically at the close of business. Anyone know how to do this or if it is possible to create customization to do this?
Hi @latapenade. At this time, there is no mechanism in Square to do any of those things you requested. Interestingly, I think you are the first seller I’ve seen here who asked for this functionality, which is pretty rare these days (after nearly 12 years). So, what you need to do is go here and submit a feature request to the Square POS team.
I’ll recommend that you include some specific examples of how you would use this (what kind of business you are, your transaction flow, etc), and make your case of why this would not only be good for you but for a wider Square seller audience. The team will review it and let you know whether or not they decide to put it on the roadmap. Just be aware that, even if they do accept it, it won’t a quick implementation (unless they are already working on it!)
