App is but isn't installed...

I've used the Square reader / app for about 3 years with little to no problem. Late last year I got a new phone,  the Samsung S20. Since then,  the Square reader and app have not worked. I've installed and Uninstalled the app twice with zero success.  

 

When I go to use the card reader,  it won't connect to the phone.  Instead,  it says the app is needed to use the card reader.

 

Manually entries are about all I can do and sometimes that is a hit and miss. 

 

Thoughts?

Which card reader you are having trouble connecting to your new phone? And how old is the reader? 

 

This could be why it's having trouble. If you're using the Contactless + Chip Reader, here is a link for a Support Article with some helpful troubleshooting steps. Ignore this, if you are using a different reader.

Hi Kassi. Thank you for the reply and the welcome.  I am using the "Contactless + Chip Reader". The reader is about 3.5 yrs old. I will check out the link you provided. Thanks so much.

Just found out, my cell phone, the Samsung Galaxy S20 5G, is NOT compatible with my Contactless Reader. UGHH...  Wonderful.
