App broken

I am using square with an iphone set up “tap to pay” lately the tap to pay function only works sometimes. The app then comes up with an error message “ app broken” I have deleted app and reinstalled a few times but this error keeps happening. Is anyone else experiencing the same?

I had a look but didn't find any similar reports of this specific error message. 

 

What brand and model device do you have? The first step here would be to confirm that it is compatible with Tap to Pay. 

 

Can you also check that you have the latest software version of the Square app installed? It would be version 6.42.

To view the software version of your Square app, you can follow these steps:

  • Open the Square app on your mobile device.
  • Tap on the “More” button (usually three horizontal lines) in the bottom-right corner of the screen.
  • Scroll down and tap on "Support."
  • In the Support page, you should see the version listed at the top of the screen.
  • If there is an “Update available” message, click on it to be redirected to the App Store to complete an update.
