Hi there! I am opening a drive thru kiosk and determining which POS system to purchase. Does anyone have any experience with the handhelds or use them in a drive thru?
I'd love for staff to be able to receive tips, just as they would at our walk in stores but the majority of our customers pay card. I also feel it's too tacky and uncomfortable to ask customers "do you want to add a tip," so I'm leaning toward the handheld for best option for customers to "DIY" quickly.
Any thoughts or other options you've done instead?
@zencoffeeco The terminal is a great option especially as a connected terminal where you can ring in the order on a full size tablet and then just pass the terminal to the customer for them to complete the sale. I have seen a couple of sellers either mount the terminal to the outside of the drive thru window, hand it to the customer, hold it for the customer, or place it on a pole kind of like a selfie stick to extend it to the customer.
Any of these iterations works quite well. The tip screen is automatic and doesn't require the ask by the staff.
