Annoying sleep mode after 30 minutes of inactivity

I know that the sleep mode is supposed to be activated after 2 hours of use but mine is around 20 - 30 minutes.  This is pretty annoying at a busy convention.  

any work-arounds?

@Shadowmyths  No sure how to help you since we have no idea what system is going to sleep after 30 min.  I use a Square Ipad with Stand and mine does not go to sleep at all.   Even after we leave the store at 7pm and get here at 9am the next morning it is still 'awake' and not sleeping.  There are different settings in each system that puts items to sleep you may have to look that up.

I just have the Square reader and the charging dock (at my table).  I find that I have to take the reader out of the charging dock, hit the button, and then it re-activates.

I am unaware of a setting for that to go to sleep.  I agree if the reader is plugged in to the Dock it should not go to sleep.  Having mine plugged right into the Square Stands hub mine does not do that.  So you have the dock just plugged into a usb charger like for a cell phone and not connected to your device at all, besides Bluetooth?

I am not sure why yours is going to sleep, because I just remembered I actually have 2 readers per Square stand.  1 is connected through the Hub and usb cable from the dock to the Square Stand and the other is on a charger cable to a usb port on a surge protector.  Neither one goes to sleep, when I run a payment, i.e. hit charge, and the Readers are waiting for a tap or dip BOTH readers 1st Green Light comes on waiting for a credit card.  I just checked this before taking any sales today, I threw an amount in the cart, pressed charge and then both green lights appeared.  I use the Bluetooth enabled one as a backup because I had a water pipe break and soaked 2 of my readers and ordered 2 new ones figuring the wet ones would not work for long.  2 years later they are still going.  I wonder if you take the reader out of the Dock if it would not go to sleep??  Maybe something in the dock is waiting for a signal from the USB port to wake it from sleep or wants to send the information through USB and not the Bluetooth connection?   All I can tell you is my one hooked through USB to a Square stand and a dock does not go to sleep, and the one I have connected to a USB port in a Surge Protector without a dock also doe not go to sleep, or if they do they wake up automatically from my Ipad asking for a payment.
