So today I booted up my tablet and card reader to find that Google no longer deems my device compatible! It seems the only solution is to buy a new tablet when mine is in perfectly good condition. Extremely frustrating, I am now unable to take card payments at all, without any warning. Not sure why on earth Google have anything to do with it. Anyone else had this problem and any suggestions?

I'm sorry to hear this - is your device a Google device? We do have quite a few Google devices that are compatible listed here, which model is it?
Did you receive a specific error message? Did you manage to run through any troubleshooting steps?
In the meantime, you can also take payments through Square Invoices, Square Online Checkout Links, Virtual Terminal, or Manual Entry.
I'll keep an eye out for your response.
