Alternatives to Square Online Store?

Hi,

Im having some issues with square online store that cannot be resolved.

So i'm looking for another ecommerce provider, that syncs with Square POS for inventory and payments.

I just called square support who told me this was not possible - yet squares App integrations suggests Wix, Godaddy, etc integrate inventory and payments.

Does anybody have any experience or advice?

Thanks in advance

@David1927 could you elaborate a little more with the online issues that you are having as the community may be able to find a way forward on these that could help resolve the issue.

In terms of other ecommerce service providers, there are some that will integrate to a degree with the Square POS to manage the inventory and product library, but from personal experience having the online and POS from one service provider gives a much more robust system.

Not wishing to hijack a thread but we are also in a similar position to the OP.

It is advertised that Square can integrate with prestashop. We've used PS for 8 years and despite much back and forthing with your PS module developer the solution cannot be found. Nothing syncs automatically from the PS store except quantities which basically leaves us with a POS terminal that is not much more than a posh ornament. (i need to use the manual synch option within the application to get new products to square, sales etc do not sync)

As much as I would consider going 'all in' in the square eco-system (I really like the POS terminal), the online store just seems to be missing some quite basic features. (for my business specifically)

1. Not possible to sell an item and allow the customer to pay a deposit % only with balance payable in the future. I have read about buttons and links and invoices but with 3k+ items and several thousand customers, these options are simply not viable when a simple solution is normally available on other platforms. Within item variations for example where customer could choose pay in full now or pay deposit only option.

2. Clearpay isn't a great option for expansive items.(I currently offer monthly payment options on every item fully automated through payment schedules bespoke for each and every product) Payments should be paced once per month, not multiple payments in 6 weeks. People are paid monthly not weekly etc. The stripe subscription system is perfect and is very similar to your subscription service options but far more flexible.

These 2 features (or lack of) are my main gripes at the moment.

If you are aware of solutions, workarounds beyond trying to create buttons and manual payment links I would love to hear them so I can progress in my store move decisions.

The online functionality is getting up to speed and there is a lot of work in the background building on the solid foundation. In response to your specific requests I have not heard of anything through the communities that would meet your specific requirements. Other community members may be able to step in with a work around?

Thanks.

Item pre-orders are pretty standard online nowadays.

Pay deposit and balance when available to ship etc.

There's no excuse to promote integration with a platform and for it to not work though, that would be considered by some 'false advertising' really 😞

Hopefully there will be updates soon.
