Re: Accidental upcharges

We are using square for restaurants. we have a few menu items that come with one side. But when I indicate a side its up-charging for a side i.e. 3$. How do I fix this? Our sales support keeps saying its under modifiers, but Im a little overwhelmed.

Hi @NaplesPizza I think I understand your question, but I want to be crystal clear before I give you suggestions. Can you post your website URL, and also post the name of one item that has sides included in their price as well as another item that doesn’t have sides included in their price.

Once I’m sure of what is going on, I think we can get this fixed for you so that you can move on.

Hi Chip, my websites not up yet. 😉 Still using the register. I found how to fix it. which is to go to the modifiers and either create a new modified with no charge, so I created one called initial sauce (free) additional sauces 59 cents. Fingers crossed that works.

@NaplesPizza I’m glad you found that. It works but it’s not ideal, I know. I and others have suggested some major upgrades to modifier management. This is one of them. Hopefully we’ll see some changes in those are one day.

Let us know if you need anything else as you are getting your site up. There is plenty of experience here, including pizza shops!
