3 for £18 offer and discount limitations

Hi,

Q. 1

We have a 3 for £18 offer on our starters. Prices for each product vary in price. What is the best approach to do this? I have already tried the method below:

Created an item called 3 for £18, set at £0 and then using variations to list all items available under the 3 for £18, trouble though is we could only select one item and we want to be able to get 2 wings and 1 chicken skewers or whatever it is the customer wants...

How we currently have this setup, is we have duplicated our starters and priced them all at £8, and set a rule to discount £2 on each item when 3 items are selected... which means 3 items at £8 = £24 - £6 = £18

Q.2

Is it possible to limit other discounts / vouchers .... e.g. I don't want the 3 for £18 discount to apply to people using taste card to get 25% off... it's either they take advance of the 3 for £18 offer or use their 25% discount , one or the other.

Hi @fullasonline, thanks for your post.

Combos are a highly requested feature and are in the works of being built - as soon as they are available, I'll let you know here.

I have a couple of questions:

  • Are these orders placed online, in-person, or both?
  • Are you using Square Point of Sale, Online, Restaurants, or Retail?

With Square for Retail and Square Online paid plans, we have a feature that allows you to bundle items together to sell for a single unit price.

It sounds like this option may work well for you, but the limitation is that the items in the bundle would be set. Do you have many items on the list? There may be a way to create various bundles with different combinations.

Here's an example of mine from the Square for Retail app:

Regarding the second question, I don't think there's a way to restrict this without removing the items from the discount entirely, which isn't feasible. I can test it, though; just let me know if these items will be sold in-person or online.

I'll keep an eye out for your reply.
