Hi all, just wanted to put our card reader experience here. I've been meaning to write this for a while but something always came up.
But this time what came up was, another card reader broke. So we are on our 3rd one in 6 months.
The first card reader broke because one of our staff inserted the charging cable the wrong way. It broke the female part of the charging connector inside the card reader. As feedback I thought this could be changed to USB-C for future versions. Its a more robust plug than micro-USB.
The second one just stopped working. I can't see any visible damage on it. When I try to charge it, nothing happens, no lights, nothing. Don't know what else to do here so I just grabbed the spare from the basement.
Yes we keep a spare card reader in the basement just incase. Now that spare is being used so I just ordered another spare...
I hope this helps the product team. If square would like to have a look the broken ones I can send pictures/video or mail the parts.
