layaway

There is no way to do layaway, we just put like a product and them we deduct the product with a 100% discount, but we can easily forget

if we use the invoice there is no way to put down payment and we can not print the receipt

Here's what you could do for a work around. It's not the prettiest but it could work.

I would send invoices for whatever the amount is broken up into "payments" so for example, send 4 $25 invoices, You can set up their due dates.

We would LOVE to use this feature. Currently we are using the "Saved Cart" method which is quite cumbersome. We have many customers who want to lay-away items, I am currently tracking in a spread sheet, but it gets much too busy to maintain accuracy during the holiday season.

I noticed that there is a category named "Installment" in the exported Transaction report. It is Column R. Is this the beginning of a layaway feature?

Layaway is very important for business model like us. During busy seasons we definitely need a button for layaway and it takes care for the transition. It will be great to have this feature built in.

We would love a layaway feature.  Currently I have a "layaway contract" that I use to track payments. The contract shows the item  cost, plus tax, with areas to write in each payment and balance. I created "layaway payment" variable discounts, so for final payment, I sell the item, apply the payment discounts to get the balance owed.  It's cumbersome but it works when needed.  A layaway option would be fantastic though.

Has there been any progress on adding a layaway feature? Afterpay is not a reasonable option for us. We are a retail business and sometimes, we have clients who need to put a down payment or a deposit. Afterpay won't work for those instances.

@QueeneBead Same thing for me Retail Business and need a deposit and a layaway feature - the work around using a invoice isn't beneficial as the we place special orders and these invoices don't end up in under Orders when using the invoice feature.
