inventory dropped from POS

Small single location brick and mortor retail. Just received a new ipad/stand/scanner combo from square. We spent a week adding inventory to the POS. Yesterday we logged in and 75% of what we had added disapeared. Is there a limit on how many items you can have in your system? Does square drop items from the POS often? Makes me wonder how reliable of a system I'm getting my business into.

I haven't had anything get lowered or lost in 6+ years.  How did you enter it into Square from the Square app or on the website?

We were using the app on the ipad. Support was stumped as well and said it was very rare and that there was unfortunately no way to recover the items. He did walk me through exporting a backup on the dashboard so I guess that's a plus. The odd thing was none of the items we entered were showing up on our other apps (two other iphones) after we added them. everything is working properly today. items appear on the dashboard and other device apps almost instantly, so I can only assume something wasn't syncing correctly in the app
