how do I get my wesite to take payments

I must be missing some info here.....I set the website up as directed. It is toggled for online payments, and all the payment options are listed; however, there is no 'add to cart' button or 'pay now' button. No way to buy items. A notice shows up when an item is clicked.....not available for $$$$
