What reports do you find most useful in the Square Dashboard?

We are starting our Summer/Fall fairs for the next 4 months and I thought this would be a good question to strike up a conversation.

Other than our end of each fair report, the main report we use is the Same Day Previous Year report. It gives us a good goal to shoot for each hour instead of a total day, we even make a little game out of it with our employees. We tell them what percentage we are up or down each hour to get them energized to engage with the customers more.

@rtfulk ;

I just look at the Sales Report on my Ipad Square Stand.  Just to see if we are getting to a busy season or slowing down.  This just shows how we are doing compared to last week.  Short term goals and see if we can beat last weeks sales.  If we can keep beating Last weeks sales.... we will beat last Months sales, Last years sales etc.

I do not use these reports for decisions in the business because they are short term goals.  Did we do better than last week? Last Month? or Last year?   Even banks look for 3 years of taxes for loans.  We can go back 1 year to compare in Square.  So I agree these reports are great to get empployees to have fun beating last (fill in the blank ) sales or to get these numbers up.

Nice thing is we can name or Device for the Name of the Sale. For example Home Comming Event.  Then I can see each sale for the Mobile Square Stand Named Home Comming Event.   Or Weekend Farm Stand Sales.  This helps the most to see if the cost to sell there is paying for itself with entrence fees and staff etc.

I download my CSV Transacation Items and Details reports and enter them in my accounting software and Excel for better reporting over a longer time frame.  How did we do at this farm sale, not good.  Well other 1st time sales at X location were not great 1st year but each year sales increased.  Which one increased or decreased?  Then I can choose which one(s) to spend $ working to improve sales.
