All,
I know that you can chose to print different ways from Square-for-restaurant POS,
1. Order printing - Whole
2. Order Printing - Single item
3. Order Stubs
4. Receipt printing..
#2 and #3 are different as in #3, you only get the name of single item printed. whereas in #2, a lot of other info is printed along with single items per page.
I am looking for the options to print #3 Order Stubs from within Square KDS.
Questions:
1. Is this feature even supported? Printing Order Stubs from within Square KDS ?
2. If yes, have anyone tried it and what are the ways to get it working?
Hello,
I added this to a new feature request. Please upvote accordingly.
@namastewatford Question, what are you wanting to use the order stub for as far as printing from the back of the house? That is usually used to hand to customers to claim their order in the current implementation? The reason I ask is this comes from the point of sale, but in theory you could direct that to the kds printer if it is an ethernet printer or wi-fi, but the kds wouldn't print this natively.
My Idea is to have a stub to stick to all the takeaway/delivery boxes. But just the name and no more details.
Btw, I have received the confirmation from Square tech team that order stubs is not supported from within Square-KDS. But available from within POS only.
Response below.
"..At this time, the KDS app does not have the ability to print an order ticket stub. We are only able to print full order tickets from the KDS app. We do have the option on the Point of sale to connect the printer and print order ticket stubs to the sticky label printer..."
Guess we can close this thread and open a feature request to Square KDS.
