[The title of this thread has been edited from the original: Dine in vs Take Out Variations]
We have a coffee shop where dine-in drinks are served in porcelain and are single-size; take-out served in paper, two sizes, two prices. What's the best way (simplest for cashier) to set this up with modifiers, variations, or options? Thanks!
Hi @TrolleyLine44. The Quickest and easiest way is to create one item with three variations, something like these:
Dine-in
Take-out Small
Take-out Large
each with its own prices. You can use modifiers, but then you’d have to see a modifier report to know how many of each you sell. The way I suggest, when you look at your item sales you’ll immediately know this without needing another report.

Also, options is overkill. That is most useful in retail settings where you have lots of colors that are available in different sizes, etc. so that you can create variations quickly.
