What is the best way to create an in-store promotion to drive return customers?

Hello - our brick and mortar business would like to do a promotion to drive traffic on slow days.  We are wanting to set a minimum purchase ($15) in one area of our business (Bookstore) and then offer guests a free admission for a following Tuesday.  So I've looked at gift cards, discounts, subscriptions, and considered loyalty.  Each one seems to get at part of the problem but not the whole.  Anyone have insight into how to tackle this problem with the following parts?

1. Category limitation - purchase books, get free entry

2. Value ceiling - $15 min purchase

3. Return limitation - another Tuesday within a month of original purchase

4. Tie to customer so that we don't have to hand out slips of paper!

Thank you!

Square Champion

Hello @GoScramble and thanks for your question. The Square Loyalty program would get you the closest to what you're trying to achieve. There are a few very specific things you're looking for, so I don't think you could automate the process entirely; the Tuesday redemption requirement isn't something you can set in the program, so you'd have to manually enforce that.

First, Loyalty works great for easily giving points out for purchases. You can set to give points for purchases in specific items or categories (like books). One point could be earned for every dollar spent on books. You could also set rewards to redeem (like 15 points gets you free admission). This would equal your $15 min purchase to get the free admission. This would be the most automated way, but as I said before the restriction for a certain day of the week can not be set within the loyalty program.

Here is some more info on the Loyalty program to see if it might work for your store.
