Variation option automatically added to sale

We have an item setup for 6 week classes.  Within that item we have 3 variations of pricing.

Up until the last update, we were able to choose the 6 week class item and then would select a variation from the screen to add to sale.  Now when we choose that same item, the first variation is automatically applied to the sale. We have to select it from the sale and change the variation.  This has added an additional step and seems unnecessary.

Has anyone else noticed this, or has found a way to work around it?  We don't want to make the 3 variations as separate items.

Solution

Thank you for those details, @eghudak.

After reviewing this with our Account Services team it looks the particular item you mentioned has the "skip item details screen" enabled. (What having this enabled does is when this item is added to the cart, the first item variation along with any pre-selected modifiers will be applied. Which in turn, will cause you to not be shown the item detail screen.)

To get to that setting, you will need to select the item you are looking to edit and select it (in this case, 6 Week Pottery Class), and then scroll down towards the bottom of the "Edit Item" page. You will see the section labeled "Checkout Behavior," and you will just want to simply toggle that selection off.

Would you be able to disable this toggle, and see if this resolves this for you, please?

Please let me know!

Hi @eghudak, thank you for reaching out on this!

I checked in with our Account Services team and they were wondering if you could provide a few more details on this. They took a look on their side and found an item named "6 week class," but were not seeing the issue you are describing.

Where exactly are you conducting the sale from? As well, where exactly are you seeing this issue? A screenshot might be helpful, if you have one.

Please let me know and I can look into this further!

It's happening in my POS.  When we ring up a sale in person and choose 6 week pottery class, the first variation for "first session" is automatically added to the cart.

What use to happen is we would choose 6 week pottery class and the screen would open so that we could choose which variation to add to the cart.
