As of this morning, we cannot update inventory or save items in the dashboard on my desktop computer. This pops up in a red box at the top of the screen when we try to save the items.
Fix these issues to save this item:
• Enter a variation name
(Item Type: Physical good)
We have many thousands of items that are in our shop/database. Some of these do have variations, but most of them DO NOT. They are books and socks and all kinds of physical items. When there are no variations needed, that field is blank intentionally.
We do not want or need to add a variation name when none exists. We cannot go through this entire catalog and add random unnecessary variation names just to be able add inventory to our system. This is madness!!
Please note (for now) - Adding new inventory qty works as usual on the Square register (tablet) - so that is what we are doing for now. But please fix this issue asap, all these updates recently are costing us lots of time and stress!
I repeat: NOT ALL ITEMS HAVE OR NEED VARIATIONS. If no variations exists, it should not be required to add one. Please help us! We have been using Square since 2019, so we know how the system works. I would consider us power users based on how large our catalog is and how much time we spend working with Square database/catalog.
