Is there a report that tracks units sold per transaction? This is a good way to track up sales by cashiers at the register. Adding an extra item per transaction can add up to a nice increase. Even a small, inexpensive item can make a difference. I can't find anything that tracks that. Any ideas?
Thanks for any help.
How familiar are you with Microsoft Excel, or Google Sheets? There's no real way to get a report like you've described out of the box from your Square Dashboard that I can think of. What you could do is export a Transactions report for a specified date range, then pull apart the Description column (AE) that contains all of the items and quantities. You could get creative, and write a FILTERXML() formula to do it all for you...
I realize that's probably not exactly what you wanted to hear, but if you're comfortable using Excel, or Sheets, it would be a pretty easy report to run yourself.
If you would goto : https://squareup.com/dashboard/sales/transactions
Then choose a date range and other filters you choose. Then Export on the right side choose Items Details CSV to download.
There are 3 options and maybe one of them may help you more than a different one.
This will then list Every Item and Quantity of Item Sold in order by Transaction. 1 Row for each Item sold and sorted by the Transactions Time. Farther to the right is a Column of Transaction ID which will show the same Transaction ID for all items sold for that transaction. Like what was previously mentioned there is no quick report that shows you how many of an item was sold or how many items were sold in one transaction. The only alternative would be to look at each receipt individually.
