When I order it, it says 10.00. I mean thats not alot but if I can get a free one. Why not right? Thanks for your response Robyn.
This link just takes me to my dashboard after I click on it. This is very frustrating. I just want to order my free card reader and not have to go through all this garbage. I ordered one when I set up my account on February 22, 2025 but it was never sent and it is not showing in my Orders. I received my debit card but not my card reader. Can you help me with this please?
@Deniseryan-67 Yes, we want you to receive your first free reader! If you're logged in and still seeing a $10 charge, please reach out to our Social Media support team for further assistance in getting your free reader. You can contact us via Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook.
I have a show March first and I still don't have my USB?? How do you place orders without it?
@Deniseryan-67, If you still haven’t received your free Square Reader, you can check the order status in your Square Dashboard. If it hasn’t arrived, you may need to reach out to Square Support to confirm the shipping details or request a replacement.
In the meantime, you can still manually enter card payments through the Square app, use Tap to Pay on iPhone or Android, or consider purchasing a reader from a local retailer if you need one urgently.

That sounds frustrating, and I appreciate you reaching out.
The link above should take you to your Square Dashboard since you'll need to log in before placing an order for the free Square magstripe reader.
Once you're in your Dashboard, go to Account & Settings > Square Hardware > Order Square Hardware. Select the Reader for Magstripe, and you should see the "Get Free Reader" option to complete your order. (Please see image below)

If you're still having trouble and the reader isn’t showing in your order history, the best next step would be to contact Square Support directly.

It takes me back to my dashboard when I select get free reader. If I go directly to the hardware page, the free reader isn't an option. Only the one to purchase.
